Puck's LB Tattoo-Part 1

Puck has a total of three tattoos. This is a partial design of the one on his lower back. All of his tattoos have some kind of significant meaning. This is almost a necessity; each tattoo he gets makes him sick due to the block it causes with the magic around him.

His lower back tattoo is dedicated to two people from his past: Miranda and Fai.

While in the North Pole on a spy mission, Puck joins a research party made of mortals. On an expedition onto the ice, he falls through. A member of the party, Miranda, rescues him and nurses him back to health. They fall in love, and Miranda becomes pregnant.

It's seven months, three weeks, and four days into the pregnancy (according to Puck). Miranda goes out onto the ice with some other party members when the unthinkable happens.

She gives birth.

Their son (whom they had agreed to name "Fai," a Chinese name meaning "beginning") dies out on the ice due to the cold. Miranda radios Puck about it and tells him that Fai was a stillborn child.

When Puck finds out, he simply leaves. There are laws in the fae community forbidding fae/mortal relationships anyway, but more than that, he has lost his reason to stay. He doesn't leave a note for Miranda, no word at all.

For the past sixty-five years (that's how old Fai would be now), Puck has convinced himself that it's better for him to not love another woman. He doesn't want to hurt anyone else the way he knows he hurt Miranda, and the thought of being responsible for a child terrifies him now.

The tribal wolf design is meant to represent an arctic wolf. He's protecting the Chinese symbol for love. (Miranda is of Chinese descent, if I didn't make that clear before...I don't remember...)

Okay, so that's a very lengthy explanation, but...Hey, at least it's a good story! Part 2 of the design will possibly be up tonight.
