OMG NEW PICTURE!!!

Okay, it wasn’t particularly because I wanted to. It was because the storyline NEEDED it. I couldn’t help it. The story wants what it wants.

EDIT: I just fixed some grammar mistakes. Remind me to not write when I'm exhausted.

ANYWAY…Here’s the link for the base: [link]

And here’s the storyline:
\

Leksi woke before Lamai did, to insistent pounding on the door. Then she stirred, opened her eyes, and murmured a small complaint. “Wait until they leave,” she begged, twining her arms around him.

“I better not.” He smiled as he kissed her nose. “It might be the R.D. Come on, love, get up.”

She whined but did at she was told, stealing a blanket to wrap around herself. “If it’s Billy, he has terrible timing. I would have liked to sleep a little longer.”

“Don’t you have to get to dance practice anyway?” he chided as he yanked on his sweats. “If your late again, Miss McNeil will kill you.”

“Damn it, you’re right…” Lamai blew him a kiss and rushed into the bathroom.

“Oh, shit!” shouted the knocker. The pounded quickly grew louder, quick and desperate. “Leksi, open the damn door! Fuck, man, you won’t believe what I just found!”

“Shut up a minute, Billy,” Leksi snapped. The sun shone through the window, and it stung his eyes. He kicked Lamai’s nightie under the bed before stumbling to the door. He jerked it open and was stunned.

There was a note attached to the door, signed by the Lyncher. A long, curved hunting knife kept the note in place. Hasty words were scribbled across it. “Don’t touch her again, or it’ll mean your life. No gunshot will stop me next time.”

“Did you touch it?” he muttered. His fingers trembled as they struggled to find something to grip. They found a desk lamp, and he threw it across the room without any thought. The crash sent his brain into overdrive. “Billy, did you touch it?”

“No, man! I swear!”

Lamai came out of the bathroom, tee shirt clutched to her chest. “Leksi? I heard something crash…” She blushed when she saw Billy but didn’t move. “What’s happening?”

“Nothing. Go finish getting dressed.” But she still didn’t move, Leksi sighed. “;Please, Lamai.”

After a long moment, she nodded. “You’ll explain this to me when I come back out. I’ll be right back.” Lamai went back into the bathroom, closing the door behind her.

“What’s up, Lek? We freshmen, we gotta stick together.” Billy offered up a grin, but Leksi couldn’t duplicate the effort.

“This note…” He swallowed past the lump in his throat. “This threat…It’s from the same guy who nearly put me in a coma last year. After I got out of the hospital, he just…left me alone.”

Billy was watching him too closely, and it grated on his nerves. “And you thought he’d keep leaving you alone.”

“Yeah, stupid, isn’t it?” Leksi forced himself to meet Lamai’s eyes when she came out of the bathroom. Hers were edgy and on guard, and he hated himself for it. Instead of using words, he walked to her and wrapped her in his arms.

“Leksi…Leksi, what is it?” She struggled against him until she could crane her neck enough to see Billy. “Billy, tell me.”

The same boy she had known since elementary school couldn’t look her in the eye. Instead, he kicked the door open for her to see. “I’m sorry, Lala.”

Lala…Lamai bit her lip and looked away. No one had called her that since third grade. She was sure Billy only meant to comfort her, but nothing could change what she had seen on the door.

“Get off of me,” she commanded. She pushed Leksi away from her and tried to ignore the hurt look in his eyes. It was too much…all too much… “You hid it from me. I asked you, Leksi, if these letters kept coming. Why didn’t you tell me?”

“They weren’t before, Lamai. I swear.” He reached out to her, but she slapped his hand away.

She felt like a fool…How would anyone that deranged just disappear? “Don’t swear to me. Just get out.”

“But…”

“I said get out!” She watched them leave, slammed the door behind her, and started to cry. She slunk against the door and slid down. “Damn it, Leksi…”

***

“But it’s our room…” Billy protested. “Why should we stay out here?”

“Because she needs some time. Come on, Billy. Let’s go tell campus security.”
